Sarah Greene, who fronted the BBC flagship children’s show between 1980 and 1983, has been confirmed as having a part in the new series being created by Will Brooks. ‘I play me! I play Sarah Greene! Or at least, a version of Sarah Greene, the Hideout/Blue Peter version of her’ Sarah commented, after filming on 16th March, adding ‘Bit of a challenge because they wanted me to go ‘back in time’, so, I just have to hope they put the very soft focus lens on for the bits where we go back!’

Aside from Blue Peter, Greene is well known for acting roles, including parts in Doctor Who and French and Saunders, along with a long stint presenting Saturday morning show ‘Going Live’.  ‘Everyone remembers Sarah from their childhood’ said Studio 7 creator, Will Brooks, ‘it was great to have Sarah on board, and we felt she was the perfect choice for a part in the Studio 7’

‘Filming took place in London, in and around Trafalgar square, and was a fantastic experience. Sarah was wonderful to work with, and I can’t wait for people to see her scenes!’, Brooks added.

The show, which centres around two boys working on ‘After School Hideout’, a fictional Blue Peter-like programme, entered production last month, and it set to be broadcast on the internet over the summer.

It’s been fantastic planning to have Sarah involved and it was great to finally film the scenes! They look fantastic, especially the 1980s scene! Editing on the pilot is finished now, and is ready for final sign off today. We will, however be filming it once more as the first episode next month.

A strict date for the series isn’t yet confirmed, but it’s likely to be early July onwards. More news as I have it!

Will
